What are they?

These warning labels are a 25mm diameter clear label with a raised triangle which should be used for labelling hazardous products so that blind and partially sighted people can be made aware they are handling a potentially harmful product.

The triangle should be 18mm across and comply with BS EN ISO 11683:1997, which ours do.  This is required in the Disability Discrimination Act 1995.

We supply them in rolls of 2,500.

What should they be applied to?

They should be applied to any product that is labelled as

  • Toxic
  • Very Toxic
  • Corrosive
  • Harmful
  • Highly Flammable
  • Extremely Flammable

They should also be applied to certain aerosols and e-cigarettes.  They can be applied by hand or by using an applicator.

How should they be applied?

The tactile triangle should be placed within 50mm of the bottom of the packaging (if the packaging has a base), if not, as close to the lid as possible.

For aerosols, it should be positioned where a finger is put to operate the spray.

The triangles should not be stuck to any packaging which is removed or discarded during or before use.
